The Super Visa allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to visit Canada for up to two years at a time (enter and exit the country multiple times for 10 years). Extensions can be granted for up to two additional years, but applicants must provide proof of medical insurance and financial support from their sponsor.

Prefer a Canadian insurance company

Travel insurance is required for a Super Visa to Canada to provide coverage for healthcare expenses. The insurance must have a minimum coverage of $100,000, cover healthcare, hospitalization, and repatriation, and be valid for at least one year from the visitor’s entry into Canada.

A LOI is required (mandatory)

The recent changes have made the Canadian super visa even more advantageous. Your son or grandson must offer you a LETTER OF INVITATION. The letter must include –

A color print out of sponsor’s PR or citizenship card (must be Canadian)
Enlist the names of all family members (in Canada and coming from outside)
Promise that sponsored individual’s living expenses will be well taken care of by the sponsor

Must not be inadmissible
