What is Atlantic Immigration Program?

Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) replaced the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP). AIPP was closed in December 2021. The Atlantic Immigration program, an employer-driven initiative, is a government scheme in Canada that helps promising businesses to hire international students and recent graduates.

Did you apply for the PR through AIPP? You need to apply again. AIP is a pathway to Canada PR for skilled professionals.

An employer driven initiative

The eligibility criteria for employers may vary depending on the specific stream within the program. Here are some general requirements –

Operate a business in one of the Atlantic Provinces (New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island).
Have been in operation for a certain period of time (e.g., at least one year).
Demonstrate a genuine need for foreign workers to fill job vacancies.
Offer full-time, permanent job opportunities to foreign workers.
Meet the minimum recruitment efforts to hire Canadian citizens or permanent residents before hiring foreign workers.
Comply with relevant federal & provincial laws & regulations regarding employment & immigration.

Eligibility criteria for the applicants

A job offer that is valid (in 1 of the 4 Atlantic Provinces)
At least one year of full-time work experience
Completed a program of at least 2 years at a recognized post-secondary DLI
Sufficient funds to support yourself and your family members
Meet the minimum language requirements in English or French

Atlantic High-Skilled Program (AHSP)

This sub-stream is designed for highly skilled individuals with a job offer from an employer in one of the Atlantic provinces in a high-skilled occupation (National Occupational Classification Skill Level 0, A, or B).

Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program (AISP)

This sub-stream targets individuals with a job offer from an employer in one of the Atlantic Provinces in an intermediate-skilled occupation (National Occupational Classification Skill Level C).

Atlantic International Graduate Program (AIGP)

This sub-stream is for international graduates who have completed a program of at least two years of full-time study at a publicly funded institution in one of the Atlantic Provinces.
